These beans are grown in rich volcanic soils at around 5000ft which ensures that the beans mature at a slower pace due to lower temperatures. This slower maturation process results in a denser bean and a more desirable specialty cup.

This coffee exceeded my expectations. I was drawn to this coffee because it is free of chemicals and the Honduran blend of flavors sounded interesting. Before even tasting the coffee I found the aroma pleasing and inviting. At first sip I could discern the distinctive flavors that make this particular coffee unique...ie the hint of chocolate to balance the smooth texture . I prefer a medium dark roast coffee that is rich but without strong after taste. This Honduran Marcala proved to a perfect choice and I will be serving it as my "house" coffee from now on!
